Z-TapeDump kopiert komplette Verzeichnisse, zum Transport, zur Sicherung (rekursiv/inkrementell) oder zur Archivierung auf QIC/SLR oder DAT-Bandlaufwerke. Das Programm hat eine einfach zu bedienende Programmoberfläche und kann auch über Kommandozeilen-Parameter gesteuert werden. Das ermöglicht eine zeitgesteuerte Bandsicherung mittels des in Windows integrierten Taskplaners oder mittels Z-Cron. Die Freeware Version sichert max. 1 GByte pro Tape.
